What, like it's hard?!
Remember when in Legally Blonde, pink seemingly-bimbo goddess Elle Woods says, “What, like it’s hard?!” in reference to getting into Harvard Law?
Y'all need to be a little more Elle Woodsian when launching.
So many entrepreneurs get stuck on the thought that just because launching was hard or disappointing before, it's always going to be hard and disappointing. Just because “successful entrepreneur” wasn’t your identity before, it will never be your identity.
As if marketing doesn't build on itself, increasing brand recognition, familiarity, and sense of safety when buying.
As if a master at anything was born a master. Imagine if Mozart never played again after hitting a few wrong notes!!
As if practicing doesn't make something easier the more you practice it.
Y'all call your gloom and doom “practical” and "facing reality."
I think you're throwing a ton of practice, valuable insight, and data about your market right out the window. Bye baby. Bye bathwater.
I've had maybe one launch I put honest effort into all the way through to the end that flopped.
I've had several that failed because my belief got shaky and my marketing fizzled out before it had a chance to work.
I've also had sales within minutes of announcing an offer. I've had sales that came out of nowhere, from people I had no idea were paying attention to my marketing at all. I've had launches that 10x my income from the previous month in a matter of days.
^^^This is also what's possible.
But if you're approaching your launch deep in the story that this one is probably going to flop too just because the last one did... I betcha it will flop.
Now, if you'll chaotically jump to another movie reference with me...
You know in The Princess Bride when Wesley and Princess Buttercup are running away from Prince Humperdink through the fire swamp and she says "We'll never survive!" to which our hero cheerfully responds, "Nonsense! You're only saying that because no one ever has."
More of that energy. It's going to get you so much further.
Get you some of that in Launch Lab 🎉. We start Monday.
