5 years ago, I told everyone email was my least favorite marketing channel- because I found it so intrusive, upsettingly frequent, and annoying.

Now, in 2024, I’m forced to swallow my smugness because there is no other marketing channel of mine that leads so directly to sales. 

So, I’ve been practicing y’all. I upped my email frequency, and hopefully my game. And, surprise surprise, I’ve garnered… a lot more unsubscribed.

Now, I relish the perspective of Greats like Simone Grace Seol who celebrate unsubscribes because they are an indication you are showing up and being heard enough for people to make a decision one way or another. 

But, I also want my emails to be really, really good.

So, I turned to literally the one person whose every single email blast I read for advice. Because Peya Robbins, and her Violent Confirmations email list, are a fucking delight. And her open rates, replies, and the number of clients who are forwarding these gems around to their whole networks confirms it.
